It's going to be the sixth year of the lantern trail full of surprises at Wakehurst. Glowing lantern, torches of fire projection will decorate trees, landscapes and ponds. You can enjoy the sight of tallest Christmas tree in the UK which will be decorated with 1,800 lights. Experience the evocative sounds of the night-time world and atmospheric soundscapes. Collect a lantern at the start of your journey and enjoy the magical atmospheres created by the range of artists.
 

Lantern making for children

 
Children can unleash their creativity by making their festive lantern to take home for Christmas. We recommend you pre-book this activity when you buy your tickets online, as spaces are limited.
 
You can buy a pre-packed lantern-making kit and take it home on the day.
 

Warming refreshments

 
Café, restaurant, food & beverage stalls will be available during the day.
Seed Cafe will be offering hot drinks, sandwiches and a small range of hot food.
The Stables eatery will have a variety of enticing dishes on the menu, including generous winter toll in addition to a newly cooked kids' menu that you can appreciate after your trial.
Outside, the Carriage Ring will be a bubbly centre point of festive food and drink stalls. You can enjoy mulled wine and juice, hot cocoa and simmered chestnuts. Toasting marshmallows over the monster fire pits will make your night a one of a kind to encounter.
The Carriage Ring will be opened till 9:45 pm.
 

Christmas Shopping

 
Wakehurst gift shops will be offering a wide range of festive products, ideas for Christmas shopping. The shop will be open until 9:45 pm.
 

Time Slots

 
  • Every Thursday to Sunday from 21 November to 22 December
  • Every 30 minutes from 4:30 pm – 8 pm
You can only arrive 15 minutes before your time slot

  • £ 15 adult
  • £ 9 child (4-16 years old), free under 4 years old
  • £46 family
  • £ 13 Wakehurst and Kew members
  • £ 42 Wakehurst and Kew member family
  • Car parking is included in price
  • The lantern making activity costs £4 per child
 
Once you buy your ticket online, you'll receive a confirmation email with all the information you need about this event. Your online e-ticket will be sent to you as an attachment in this email.
