Meet your guide at London Bridge Station and board the Thameslink south together. The train journey is just over an hour, and your guide will give an informal talk in the carriage, sharing Brighton's history, its characters, and the stories behind what you're about to see. Once in Brighton, the morning is given over to Tour 1: The Pleasure Seekers. This is a 90-minute guided walk through the heart of the city — from the counterculture streets of North Laine, through the ancient fishing-quarter alleyways of The Lanes, out to the extraordinary Royal Pavilion, and down to the seafront. Walk the length of Brighton Palace Pier, hear the story of the West Pier ruins visible just along the coast, and stand on the famous pebble beach with someone who can tell you exactly what you're looking at and why it matters. Lunch is yours. Your guide will walk you to the best spots — a proper seafront chippy, a good café in The Lanes, or a sit-down option if you'd prefer — and then stay available at a fixed point nearby. You'll have an hour and a half. Eat well. Brighton's lunch is part of the experience. At 2:00 PM, the afternoon begins with Tour 2: an optional but included guided visit to Brighton Museum & Art Gallery. Free entry. This is a genuine hidden gem — most day trippers walk straight past it — and with a guide pointing you at the right things, it rewards the hour it takes. The Fashion and Style gallery tells the story of Brighton's subcultures through clothes. The Ancient Egypt collection is unexpectedly extraordinary for a seaside museum. And then there's the Dali sofa — a lips-shaped chaise longue that has no business being this far from a surrealist gallery, and which sums up Brighton better than any postcard. Your guide takes you through it all, keeps it moving, and you're out in an hour. Guests who'd rather spend the afternoon on the beach or exploring independently are welcome to sit Tour 2 out — you're not being shepherded. But in our experience, most people who consider skipping it end up being glad they went. The group reconvenes at Brighton Station at 3:15 PM and heads home together on the 3:30 PM train, arriving back at London Bridge by 4:45 PM.
