Bar Broadway

Bar Broadway is a performance-led bar on Steine Street in Kemptown, with a programme built around musicals, cabaret and karaoke. The venue combines a drinks-focused setting with scheduled live entertainment, making the performance as central to the visit as the bar itself.

Its live events feature singers, drag queens and other performers, with cabaret shows designed for evening outings and celebrations. The Broadway theme gives the venue a theatrical identity, while karaoke adds a participatory element to the entertainment. Event formats can vary, so the listings are the best guide to what is taking place on a particular date.

Bar Broadway also hosts drag brunches, extending the venue’s cabaret style into daytime events. These occasions are suited to groups looking for entertainment alongside a social meal, while the regular evening programme offers a more nightlife-oriented experience. Private hire is available for occasions that need a dedicated entertainment venue.

The bar serves cocktails, including a spicy margarita and a mojito among the drinks highlighted by the venue. The drinks offer supports the show-bar atmosphere without taking attention away from the performances. The setting is geared towards live events rather than a quiet dining experience, with musical theatre, drag and audience participation shaping the character of the venue.

Bar Broadway suits visitors seeking a themed night out, cabaret fans, groups marking a celebration and guests who enjoy karaoke or live performers. The Kemptown location places it within Brighton’s wider nightlife scene, while the dedicated programming gives it a more theatrical focus than a standard bar. Checking the event schedule before visiting helps with choosing between a cabaret show, drag brunch, karaoke-led occasion or private booking.
