Fire, Salt & Sea
Brighton
At a glance
Fire, Salt & Sea is a Finnish-style, wood-fired sauna set on Worthing beach at Marine Parade. Designed as a compact beach hut, it combines the heat of a traditional sauna with an open outlook towards the water. A full-width window faces the sea, keeping the coastal setting present throughout a session, whether the weather is bright, breezy or unsettled.
The sauna is heated by a large Estonian wood-burning stove and uses traditional Finnish olivine sauna stones. The result is a straightforward, elemental experience built around heat, fresh air and the nearby sea. The name reflects the setting: fire from the stove, salt from the coast and the sea itself just beyond the pebbles.
Sessions are available as private hire or as shared community visits. Social sessions include mixed and women-only options, making the space suitable for solo visitors who enjoy a communal setting as well as friends or small groups looking for time together. Private hire offers a more exclusive format for group occasions, with the sauna arranged for up to nine people.
The atmosphere is calm and uncomplicated. There is time to sit with the sea view, take a break outside and return to the heat at an individual pace. Beach footwear is available for crossing the pebbles, while deck chairs provide a place to pause between sauna sessions. Water and sauna hats are also provided, adding practical touches to the experience.
Fire, Salt & Sea suits visitors seeking a coastal wellness activity rather than a conventional spa. It works for a quiet reset, a shared outing or a different kind of celebration, with the natural surroundings doing much of the work. Its position on Worthing seafront also makes it an easy addition to a day by the coast for visitors travelling from Brighton and elsewhere in Sussex.
